At Adhyay, we believe mental health, relaxation, and emotional reflections belong solely to you. We do not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, sell, or monetize any of your personal details, emotional check-ins, or breathing records. Everything stays 100% on your device.
1 Overview & Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Adhyay: Mental Clarity & Calming Soundscapes mobile application (the "App"), developed and published under the package identifier com.adhyay.foundation on the Google Play Store.
The App is built as an offline-first mental clarity tool providing science-backed breathing pacers (Physiological Sigh, Box Breathing, 4-7-8 Somatic Vagal Reset), generative Solfeggio soundscapes, cognitive reframing diagnostics, and reflection tracking.
2 Information Handling & Storage
Adhyay operates with an explicit privacy-by-design architecture:
- No Account Registration: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide an email address, phone number, or password to use Adhyay.
- On-Device Storage Only: All session durations, chosen usernames (such as profile first name), daily streak dates, breathing completion logs, and selected edition themes are saved strictly within your device's sandboxed local storage (
localStorage/ SQLite on-device). - No Cloud Synchronisation: None of your emotional ratings, anxiety root-cause selections, or journaled thoughts are uploaded to any external server or cloud database.
- No Biometric or Health Telemetry: Adhyay does not connect to health monitors, heart rate sensors, or biometric identifiers.

3 Android Device Permissions
Adhyay requires minimal device privileges to operate smoothly:
- Audio Output (Playback): Utilized by the Web Audio API and Android audio subsystem to synthesize calming ambient frequencies (528Hz, 432Hz, 639Hz, 216Hz bowls, rain, ocean waves). The App never accesses your microphone or records ambient audio.
- Vibration / Haptic Feedback: Used solely to provide gentle tactile pulses indicating inhale, hold, and exhale transitions during breathing exercises. You may disable vibration in device settings at any time.
- Network / Internet: The core features of Adhyay operate completely offline. Network capability is only utilized if you choose to tap an external YouTube educational masterclass link or visit this Privacy Policy in your browser.
4 Third-Party Services & Advertising
We are firmly committed to providing an ad-free, distraction-free sanctuary:
- No Advertising Networks: Adhyay does not incorporate Google AdMob, Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network, or any other commercial ad SDKs.
- No Analytics Trackers: We do not integrate tracking SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Adjust, AppsFlyer, or Google Analytics) that track your behavior across apps.
- No Data Brokers: We do not sell, rent, license, or disclose your information to any data brokers, marketers, or third parties under any circumstances.
5 Children's Online Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
Adhyay is designed for general audiences and professionals seeking nervous system recovery, cognitive clarity, and stress relief.
Because we do not collect personal data from any user, we do not knowingly gather personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). 6 Data Retention, Deletion & User Rights
You have absolute control over all data generated during your use of Adhyay:
- Immediate Data Wipe: You can clear all saved streak counts, custom profile names, and past breathing session logs at any time by going to your Android device's Settings > Apps > Adhyay > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data.
- Uninstallation: Uninstalling the App instantly and irreversibly removes all sandboxed data from your device. Because we maintain no external servers or cloud backups, no remnant copies exist anywhere.
7 Security
By eliminating cloud transmission and remote database storage, Adhyay minimizes attack vectors. All local storage is protected by standard Android operating system application sandboxing, preventing other installed applications from accessing your Adhyay reflections.
8 Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect app enhancements or evolving Google Play developer policies. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." We encourage users to periodically review this policy.
